So cute!

Take a look…a really close look…

My friends…that is a soap case and NOT a bar of soap!

Isn’t it the cutest?

I was in Robinson’s Pioneer the other day and was looking at some stuff over at the toiletries section when I suddenly had the urge to buy soap.  I did not have a particular brand in mind because I use liquid body wash in my showers.  Decided on getting Dove just because Papa likes it.  I don’t know why but for a house full of dudes, Dove is the soap of choice.  And mind you, these are the fruity-scented varieties…I don’t think they like Dove+Care for Men. J

And I was pleasantly surprised when the sales attendant handed me this cute soap case when I was about to pay for three 100-gram Dove soap bars.  There’s a promo apparently and I’m just happy because the soap case is so cute!  It fits a little Dove soap bar perfectly so it’s ideal for travelling.

Now, I have to go back to Robinson’s to get me a couple more…soap cases.  Lol!

Happy Birthday!

A lady with long and straight hair stepped into a salon, hoping to get a brand new look with a new hairdo.  She then discussed her plan with the stylist and made the gross mistake of telling him/her (who happens to be a mamser!) “Bahala ka na, basta gusto ko short hair!”

So the excitable stylist went on to snip-snip her beautiful locks while the lady busily reads a magazine, not bothering to glance at the mirror.  She didn’t even glance at A (our sole witness!)…who was already trembling with fear as he witnessed the crime being committed.

When mamser finished and the lady finally glanced at herself in the mirror, she went numb.  Well, catatonic actually…for a few hours.  For she must be the first customer ever of that mamser stylist to practice his/her ability to use the scissors.

I have the picture of that worst haircut she ever had but I will not post it as I am also in that shot with my short hair and bangs.  Dios Mio!  I’m shuddering at the thought.  Lol!

Today, the lady turns a year older.

I am extremely proud of her for everything she has accomplished in her life was through sheer guts and determination.

Happy birthday, I!

We miss you terribly.

Tagaytay: Bag of Beans!

When in Tagaytay, I never (well, almost) fail to visit Bag of Beans.  It’s the perfect cafĂ©/restaurant with a very nice ambiance for breakfast people like me because breakfast is served all day long.  There’s a garden where you can have your meals while enjoying the chirping of the birds inside a huge cage. Word of caution though, make sure to slap on some bug lotion because there’s a lot of mosquitoes in the garden.  I don’t particularly like the smell of burning mosquito coil they had there…which didn’t really ward off the tiny suckers.  If you’re not into al fresco dining…you can always have your meals inside the restaurant.

I was starving when we got there at around 3pm because I haven’t had lunch yet.  So, I went over the menu, as if I didn’t know what I’ll be having and ordered my breakfast-lunch of ham, tomato and mushroom omelette with crisp bacon strips, a basket of freshly-baked bread with butter and jam and freshly-brewed coffee (house blend) that’s refillable.
Trust me, this tastes a lot better than it looks

Nothing beats freshly-baked bread

I had 2 cups of this good coffee

But the star of the show ermm…meal is my dessert.  The oh-so-divine blueberry cheesecake!  I kid you not…I almost forgot my name when I took the first bite.  Teheee…I’m exaggerating as usual because I just adore cheesecakes but you REALLY have got to try Bag of Beans’ blueberry cheesecake.  Okay, I’ll just let the pictures tell you how good it is…

See the generous scoop of blueberry topping?

It's heaven in every bite!

I swear there's a slice of cheesecake in that plate!

So if you haven’t had breakfast in Bag of Beans in Tagaytay, I suggest you go now and do yourself a favor for it may just be the best breakfast experience you’ll ever have.

Tagaytay: Leslie's!

Let’s kick off another year of travelling…for 2011, first up is Tagaytay.

2010 in general had been a blast.  It’s fun to look back at the things that happened but I particularly love to reminisce about the trips that I had.  But 2010 is over and I should look forward to more destinations where my itchy feet can take me.  And so we start 2011 with a trip not too far from the Metro.  And by this I am not referring to Bataan and Batangas as they’re my weekend homes…when I’m not away from home. J

It had been colder than usual in Tagaytay and I almost strangled myself because I forgot to bring a jacket or even a shawl.  And when it’s cold, a bowl of piping hot bulalo soup is in order.  Never mind that I’ve never been a fan of bone marrow because of cholesterol.  So, it’s Leslie’s for our bulalo fix.

Cardiac arrest in a bowl!

My New Netbook!

If not for the persistent backache that I suffered out of lugging my backpack to the office almost everyday…I would not have parted with the Toshiba Satellite laptop.  After thorough soul-searching, I finally found the courage to say goodbye to my Toshie and said hello to…

My lovely crimson red HP Mini with the following technical specs:

Okay, okay…I admit that I don’t understand 80% of the technical mumbo-jumbo but I definitely liked what I got.

One of the reasons why I hesitated to use a netbook at first is because of the keyboard…but the HP Mini 210’s keyboard is practically the same as a standard keyboard of a regular-sized laptop.

A couple more things that I like about the keyboard is its cool silver finish and the specific key for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.  The caps lock and Wi-Fi/Bluetooth keys are backlit by beautifully understated white lights.

Also, the battery life is awesome…a fully-charged battery can last up to 6 hours of action.  This is heaven since I’m used to the 3-hour battery life of the Toshie.  The LED display is great…perfect for watching Vampire Diaries, Glee and all the movies JM shares with us. J  And no, I didn’t get red because I wanted to be VI compliant (VI crap!), I just fell in love with the eye-catching crimson red, smoothly tapered, brushed metal cover.  I secretly hoped that there’s one in green…kaso wala. L

And the size is perfect for anyone that travels…now, I don’t have to think twice if I should bring the netbook in any of my trips.  It’s much lighter than the one that I’m used to so it’s a pretty welcome adjustment.  I have watched movies, played games and surfed the internet and it works perfectly.  It’s a great system for my day to day tasks with loads of storage and memory.

The decision would not have been possible if not for C’s prodding.  Thank you so much, one of the best gifts ever!
